People often come to this work feeling capable on the outside but conflictual on the inside. Common Experience include internal tension, self criticism, difficulty resting, emotional reactivity under stress and a sense of being driven by pressure rather than choice.
Through this work you learn how to relate differently to your internal world. Over time this leads to greater clarity, emotional regulation, steadier decision making and more ease in relationships without suppressing or overriding parts of yourself.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) for children is a gentle, approach that helps kids understand their feelings and behaviors by understanding the different “parts” inside them and speaking for the parts and not from them.
Children are supported in accessing their natural Self, which helps them feel more in control of their emotions. Over time, this approach helps children regulate big feelings, reduce anxiety and reactivity, build self-compassion, and feel safer in their relationships—without asking them to ignore or “get rid of” any part of themselves.
To support the whole child, family therapy is essential. How parents parent and how children respond both have an important place in the therapeutic process. Parents are actively involved through joint sessions, guidance, and ongoing collaboration, helping them understand their child’s inner world and their own responses as caregivers.
Through play and an IFS-informed approach, families learn how to work together as a connected, supportive system—one that can accept each member for who they are and use differences as strengths rather than sources of conflict. Children learn how to express their needs from a place of Self, while parents learn how to lead from Self, bringing greater calm, clarity, and confidence into daily family life.
